Going back to school- STRESS FREE

While this time of the year may always be stressful with school starting again, there are many ways to live your life stress free:

1). Stay organized- Be prepared the night before going back to school, lay your clothes out and have your bag packed and ready to go. Get up with enough time that you can have a breakfast and ease yourself into the day. Giving yourself plenty of time to wake up in the morning can help you to relax instead of being in a rush to leave the house. When leaving the house, take your time getting to where you need to get.

2). Be positive- Going back to school means you are starting a new year and can forget about the one you left behind. If you grades or experiences weren’t great last year, forget about it now and commit to making the most out of this one. Remember that there is more to school than just classes and homework. Join a new sport or take part in drama or other after school activities to help you enjoy the overall experience.

3). Keep a steady schedule- Children and adolescents respond positively to routine. Keeping a consistent lights out time will decrease bedtime resistance, and will give parents a time to be at ease. Dry erase boards are great for writing the following day’s schedule.

4). Eat right and exercise- each day should start out with a balance meal. Good balanced breakfast with protein can help your child or anybody to start the day calmly.

5). Time management- make sure to use the most of your time and know how to use it. If something needs to be done, do not procrastinate. People tend to stress more when under pressure of waiting last minute.
