How to Declutter and Destress your Workspace

1.     Identify what you appreciate and find frustrating about your workspace – What can you change and what must remain?  Focus on improving what you can change.

2.     Determine how you want your space to look and feel – Search Pinterest for inspiration.   What could you incorporate?  What can be thrown away?  Could you rearrange office furniture?

3.     Sort and clean – Take some time to eliminate clutter by identifying keep and trash piles.  Wipe down your desk and keyboard.  Spot clean as needed.

4.     Make it yours – Add the details you’ve been thinking about!

5.     Maintain it - Make it a point to clean and declutter your space at least once a month

Some ideas for altering the feeling of your workspace:

o   Create a minimalist desktop – Use drawers for accessories like staplers, pens, and notebooks.  Leave plenty of clear space on your desk so that what you are working on is the only thing you see.

o   Buy a succulent or other small office plant to bring some life into your space

o   Purchase a diffuser or wax melt warmer to create happy smells – Walmart has one for $5! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-and-Gardens-Full-Size-Wax-Warmer-Terracotta-Bazaar/172717963
