The Power of Morning and Night Routines!

How do you start and end your day?

Many individuals struggle to wake up in the morning and find it difficult to get to sleep at night, or both. We may resort to scrolling on our phones which can affect our quality of sleep and produce more anxiety. Having a consistent and reliable morning and night routine can help us cope with stress, lower anxiety levels, and can better our quality of sleep. On social media, we often see unrealistic expectations of morning and night routines, like getting up at 4am, doing long and extensive workouts, or journaling for hours before bed. If these are practices that work for you, that's awesome! Although, these practices might not be feasible and realistic for everyone and that's okay too! Here are some small habits you can add to your morning and night routines. This week, try picking one habit and engaging in the practice mindfully for 5 minutes! Trying to add too many new habits at once can be overwhelming and create more stress.

Think about why you are adding these new practices! Is it to feel more focused throughout the day? To feel more grounded? To sleep better? To have an hour to yourself before caring for others?
