Dealing with anxiety is no easy feat. On top of daily life stressors, anxiety can easily ruin your day. It can stop you from something, cause you to isolate yourself, overthink small aspects of your life, and so much more. It can be exhausting and take a toll on not only your physical health, but your mental health, as well. Although this can be a long and straining process to undergo, there are some small ways that can help relieve your anxiety, right now!

  1. Listen to music! Whether it’s fun and makes you want to dance, or it's calming and helps you to relax, music is a great escape.

  2. Take deep breaths/meditate. Slowing down your breath allows you to recenter your mind. Take a few minutes to focus on your breathing and meditate

  3. Watch your favorite TV show. Get lost in a show that makes you feel-good. My favorite feel-good show is Gilmore Girls!

  4. Write down your thoughts. Putting thoughts on paper helps to relieve those thoughts and put them into perspective.

  5. Read a book. Sometimes stepping away from the screen can be beneficial. Allow yourself to get lost in a book.

  6. Do something that brings you joy. This can be laying in bed all day, going out with friends, visiting your family, literally anything! Do something that you know you feel comfortable doing.

  7. Try a Five Minute Journal. These journals help to put what you are grateful for to the forefront of your mind. This can often be relaxing to think about.

  8. Take a warm shower/bath. This can really allow you to calm your emotions … or cry it out! Sometimes being completely alone is exactly what you need to feel better.
