8 Dimensions of Wellness

Wellness is an important factor of our everyday lives. According to Pfizer.com, “Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving” (Pfizer, 2023). These ‘healthy habits’ have a huge impact on not only our body, but our mind as well. When we practice wellness, we are practicing making both our bodies and our minds stronger. Within wellness, there are 8 dimensions that are codependent with each other. These 8 dimensions include:

  1. Emotional

  2. Physical

  3. Occupational

  4. Intellectual

  5. Financial

  6. Social

  7. Environmental

  8. Spiritual

Because these dimensions are codependent, if one of them is neglected or forgotten about, the others will be affected, as well. This will, ultimately, lead to a rapid decline of your wellness, making you start to struggle both physically and mentally. When all of these dimensions are strong and emphasized in your daily life, your overall quality of life will start to improve.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will go more in depth with all of these dimensions and what they mean on our Instagram! Make sure you go check us out @oldcitycounseling to learn more about your wellness and how to emphasize positivity in your life!
